WHO ARE WE?

Rooted Treasure is a family owned Jamaican Black Castor Oil line. We harvest sustainably sourced Castor beans from St. Thomas, Jamaica and press them using our family’s traditional method.

Growing up in Jamaica, our grandmother found joy in creating nourishing, organic goods by using the skills taught to her by her elders. Using her hands, she crafted rich, all-natural treasures such like Coco (chocolate), Black Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Honey and Molasses. When she had difficulty finding employment, Grandmother leaned into her passion and began selling her wholesome creations at markets and  tourist hangouts and gained popularity for her effective homemade oils, chocolates and butters.

WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?

Our grandmother’s handcrafted hair and skin creations are meticulously made in small batches without any solvents or parabens to maintain the integrity of these valuable essential oils and give you powerful, all natural beauty and wellness solutions. Generations later, it’s our pleasure to share the crafts womanship that our she passed down to her children and community to you and yours.

Rooted Treasure understands that as a Black-Owned Business it’s important for us to give back to our community in sustainable ways. We’re proud to source our Organic Jamaican Black Castor oil from a woman-owned farm, continuing in the hardworking spirit of our elders. Through product sales, we intend to grow our family-owned company and create more jobs in our Jamaican hometown where we harvest, as well as in our distribution markets worldwide.  As a Black-owned business, we understand our responsibility to operate thoughtfully and sustainably in our communities.
